Apart from repairing conventional ships, mainly for Stena Line at Holyhead and other vessels that visits the port, D Hughes Welding were one of the first companies in the UK to carry out large scale repairs to Aluminium Fast Craft. This started when Stena brought in the Stena Lynx 1 to Holyhead in July 1993 followed by the Stena Lynx 2 in June 1994 and then, subsequently, the Stena HSS Explorer in April 1996 to 2014. During this period, we became specialist in Aluminium welding repairs, which took the company worldwide on aluminium fast craft repairs and conventional vessels.

Having DNV-GL Approved Welding Procedures to BS-EN-ISO-15614 and Welder Qualification to BS-EN-ISO 9606-1 and 2 on Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Cunifer and Carbon Steel is a major asset to the company and it has allowed us to build a good reputation/relationship both with Clients and Class Surveyors around the world. We are also BS-EN-ISO 9001 accredited.
