Zip World Plumet Tower

One of several projects awarded to D Hughes Welding in 2018 by ZIP World.

This tower consists of three lattice box sections bolted end to end with a platform module and roof module atop it- taking the height to around 38m (125 foot) from foundation to top of roof. The project also included a 39m span suspension foot bridge for public access to the tower, leading to a spiral stair which is welded into the structure for access to the drop platform. Contains both Execution Class II and Class III elements in the design.

Welding & Steel Fabricators North Wales

As the business grew he established a small workshop and continued in general steel welding & fabrication expanding to include Stainless Steel and Aluminum and obtaining approved welding procedures to A.S.M.E. and BS EN 15614-1 for these materials.

Today the company employs Experienced Fabricators and Coded Welders third party certified by D.N.V to BS EN 9606-1 on Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Copper Nickle, BS EN 9606-2 on Aluminum. A.P.I 1104, BS EN 4515-1:2009 on Pipe Lines.

Conveniently located on the Isle of Anglesey, we are close to the U.K motorway network, ferry terminals and international airports, requiring only short notice we can mobilise staff and equipment to any part of the world

Welsh Government ERDF grant scheme

D Hughes Welding has been successful in securing grant funding through the Welsh Government ERDF grant scheme in lieu of investment in a new 170 ton CNC brake press machine.

The Company hopes to be able to offer customers an extended range of folding services in the near future.
